History and status

The Company was established by Decree No 260 of the Council of Ministers and registered as a Research, development, design and construction institute of engines and automobiles at the State Enterprise “Transportno Mashinostroene”.

Pursuant Decree No 56 on the economic activity, the Company received the status of a State Enterprise.

The State Enterprise was transformed into TECHNOTEST Single-Member Private Limited Liability Company, with state-owned property.

The Company started developing activities related to the service of various vehicles, including motorcars and trucks, warranty and post warranty maintenance.

A management and employee buyout deal was concluded, according to which 60% of the company’s capital was sold to TECHNOTEST 2001 JSC.

The company was transformed into TECHNOTEST JSC.

A Co-operation Agreement was signed between TECHNOTEST JSC and TÜV Verkehr und Fahrzeug GmbH (now TÜV SÜD Auto Service), region of Saxony in the field of technical inspections, tests, training in the field of transport, etc.

TECHNOTEST JSC gets the right to represent itself under the name “TÜV Partner”

A unit of the Testing Division of the laboratory was established, outside its scope of accreditation, for testing of secure storage units for protection against burglary.

TECHNOTEST became a notified technical service of Bulgaria to the UNECE – E34/C.

TECHNOTEST, together with its partner TÜV SÜD AS – Sachsen, was one of the founders of the Bulgarian Technical Supervision Association

The testing of the secure storage units was included in the scope of accreditation of the Testing Division.

Expansion of the activity of the testing laboratory towards testing of physical protection equipment started. A new Assessment Division was established in order to create a Product Certification Body (PCB).

The Assessment Division obtained accreditation by the Executive Agency ‘Bulgarian Accreditation Service’ as a Product Certification Body (PCB) under registration number 4 OCП.

The Assessment Division was defined and notified as Technical Service Category “A” of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Commission under Directive 2007/46 / EC.

TECHNOTEST is defined and notified as a technical service category “A” of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Commission, for testing of vehicles of category L according to annexes to Regulations of the European Union , which are to Regulation (EU) № 168/2013.
